The purpose of the trust is to change the environment of our children by educating the whanau and their mentors around them. When i went through my own transformation losing 75kg and beating the diseases that come with being morbidly obese, my environment changed, as did my kids environment. Looking back through our photos when I was over weight, we were all overweight. And as I educated myself, it rubbed off on to my kids and we all changed. And as I educated thousands online with my program I noticed the same things happening to all the whanau.
The Te-Kakano 12 week online program is based on the four principles of Māori health "Te Whare Tapa Wha" - Sir Mason Durie. The 12 week program consists of tools that support the four pillars of Māori health - Taha Tinana (Physical) Taha Wairua (Spiritual) Taha Whanau (Family) Taha Hinengaro (Mental) Health. Nutrition is a big part of the program, we look at the evolution of disease in indigenous people and the links food has on us. Daily exercise and movement is another main focus for both physical and mental health. Other topics include, yoga, hot and cold exposure, weight training and the importance of sleep.

The majority of my clients (and me) use a High Fat, Low Carb or ketogenic way of eating. I have found this diet is very effective for Māori and Polynesian alike, and actually is in line with how we ate years ago. I have found it is an amazing tool to lose fat and keep it off. Throughout the program I will teach you about getting into ketosis so we are using fat to fuel our body. This, combined with intermittent fasting, has successfully stripped the fat off me and my clients without having to adopt a deprivation mindset. This way of eating is enjoyable, nourishing and sustainable.

As you go through the program your body will get fitter and lighter, and we need to stay in front of these changes so we continue to make progress. I will supply you with exercise videos to complete in the comfort of your own home as we go through the 12 weeks.
